New Series: Cornerstones of Eroticism

5-Class Series Starting Wednesday 1st July

Jack Morin’s seminal work The Erotic Mind asks a simple question - what is it that makes stand out sexual experiences SO hot that you remember them years, even decades later? 

Through analysing hundreds of peak sexual experiences Morin formulated the four cornerstones of eroticism. These drivers of erotic excitement are liminal spaces that exist between you and getting what you want - the obstacle that is overcome, the squeeze that gets the juices flowing. They are: longing and anticipation, violating prohibitions, overcoming ambivalence and searching for power.

As the name of the book suggests, Morin’s main concern was what is happening in the psyche, in the narrative and emotional realm of experience. 

Over the next five weeks we will be taking Morin’s work and asking:

How does the erotic psyche interact with the erotic body? 

How can we build a relationship between the four cornerstones, our own personal history and our embodied experience to stoke desire, understand our erotic brakes and create more enlivening self pleasure experiences?

This series will invite you to engage your erotic history, your emotions, your desires and your body. Attend the full series of five classes where we will explore each of the cornerstones and end with a class on peak experiences and erotic identity, or drop-in for any class that interests you.
